The John Wayne Commemorative Gun Collection

Winchester commissioned a special commemorative gun to honor John Wayne’s commemorative gun and celebrate his upcoming 100th anniversary in film. This rifle is based on the.44-40 Winchester Model 92 lever action carbine. It is loaded with a forged and engraved medallion inletted into the stock, a plated gray nitride finish on the receiver, barrel bands and lever, an authentic large-loop lever, a special 44-40 chambering and a classic ladder style rear sight. The handsome walnut stocks have a slightly stained appearance and feature a special engraving of scenes from some of his movies.

The left side of the barrel features a portrait of John Wayne early in his career as a Hollywood cowboy. The right side of the receiver shows his famous quote “Courage, Strength & Grit”. A special certificate of authenticity is included with each rifle.

Each rifle comes in a custom leather luggage case that is marked “Winchester Model 94 John Wayne Commemorative”. The outer box has some compression marks and tears and the insert has a few losses but overall rates in Very Good condition. A special full color sleeve, a special John Wayne owners manual and a special historic brochure are also included.
